Off the Wall
For an assignment, I had to create a collaboration design for a shoe company. I chose Vans (because of the amount of Vans I've owned over the years) and created a more retro and patriotic, "American" version based on a pair of shoes I already owned.
The packaging is directly influenced from the colors and patterns of the shoes I owned and I created icons based on the 60's due to Vans being founded in 1966. The shoebox was also created using skateboard grip tape on the lid. This was a nod to the rise of skateboarding at the time, though grip tape wasn’t officially used on skateboards until the 1970s.
