“It’s Modelo time, foo”

- George Washington (probably)

I was recruited to create the logo for the homebrewed beer, Amigos Brew, as well as the labels for the first 3 beers; 7th & A, Oxnard Blvd, and Saviers Rd. All of the names are based on streets in Oxnard, CA, where the beer is brewed.

The client had informed me that he had purchased a vector image that he wanted to incorporate the main logo around (top picture on the right). Once he sent it to me I quickly threw together the two designs underneath. The client was very impressed by the turn around and result that he wanted me to put together my own design with no parameters.

From there I began sketching ideas and threw together a mood board with various images of beer labels, skulls, sombreros, and anything else I could think of.

I brought everything to Illustrator and began mapping out rough ideas on how some of these logos could look like.

After discussing exactly what the client wanted to include in the logo, we ended up going with the middle design on the bottom row. I ended up polishing up the logo, and the finalized results are below.

From there, I started throwing together a label based on the logo that I wanted to pursue. The labels below were created before the beer names were chosen (Life is Brewdiful was just a placeholder).

These were just the initial designs that I created, and once again, the client really liked them.

I then ended up editing the colors while he gave me the finalized text and beer names. The process didn’t take too long, and you can see the result on the left side.
